The Innovation Center (IZ) observes trends in technology and society and serves as an incubator and accelerator for the explorative development of modern business models for the entire IABG Group. The Innovation Center sees itself as the spearhead for industrializing the latest research and putting it to beneficial use for customers. We experiment not only with technologies and methods but also with organizational forms and business models. We are guided by the question of how an increasingly globalized and urban society can be developed in a secure and sustainable manner, whose organizations and systems are already networked at Internet speed.
For this new position in our safeAI team, we are seeking a motivated working student supporting the development and continuous integration of a framework for the evaluation of Machine Learning (ML) models.
You will work on research and implementing state-of-the-art methods in order to evaluate the robustness, uncertainty, and explainability of ML models. Furthermore, you will develop, test, and support frontend and backend development of the evaluation framework.

Tätigkeit:

Planning and developing new features in collaboration with a small, agile team

Refactoring of the existing code base
-
Documentation and testing of the developed code, including high-level explanations of mathematical background, where necessary
-
Regular reporting of activities with mentors, product owners and other colleagues
-
Research on state-of-the-art ML evaluation techniques with a focus on applicability and concrete use cases

Building Pipelines and MLOps solutions

Voraussetzungen:
|

Study in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

Good programming skills in Python

Practical experiences with Linux CLI, Git, and Docker

Knowledge in common data science and ML frameworks, e.g., pandas, numpy, scipy, torch, tensorflow

Knowledge and experience in software engineering for larger projects

Creativity as well as problem-solving and debugging skills
-
Very good communication skills in English. German language skill is a plus.
